14 April 2017 – Good Friday – Lord’s Passion

Here we have an analogy. I am sure that all men have experienced the inconsolable feeling of grief when saying goodbye to somebody. This suffering can become a positive wound. You will ask me why. Let us take wind as an example: we cannot see it but we can see its effects – leaves blowing about, cold, heat and we also know that it scatters the seeds around the world, it brings clouds full of water to plants to feed them or move them when they need sunshine to be warmed and filled with light. Without all this, new plants could not grow. We forget about wind and we remember only its effects. Similarly, we forget love e we remember only its effects because we suffer when we love. The Cross has made visible the Love (the wind). We are lucky.
