Building hopes on men, particularly the rich and powerful, results in achieving many successes and possessing many things in life, but it does not fully meet the desire to love and be loved. Though great men teach us important ethics, they cannot teach us love but only what comes out of it. We experience love only through God and those who love us like God does. But we will not be happy until we surrender ourselves to Him and let God’s love touch us, so we can have His own gaze and charity, only then will we be truly happy in our hearts.
