When we don’t love through the love of Christ, but in the name of philanthropy, we do nothing less than get ourselves loved, not love. We force people to admire us and, while pretending to help them, we humiliate them. They recognize us as saviours, but in fact we blackmail them and with difficulty they become aware that we use them. This is an inner and original evil, so only God will judge the action of these proud people.
