A close friend of mine asks me: “With all the problems to be solved in the world, and the numerous difficulties of individuals and States, why are we worried about how to worship God, that is, why are we worried about Liturgy? We could take care of this after having solved the most pressing problems of our society.” We all fall into this trap: once we solve the problems, then we start to pray. We do not understand that the problem itself is prayer as it needs God to accomplish. Human and social contradictions exist because God manifests His presence and love through them. Difficulties are a source of incentive for us to grow in love and prayer. Liturgy teaches us how to see God in every situation and worship him. Liturgy shows us the most beautiful and fascinating experience we could do in our life: to see in our difficulties His loving presence.
